We would like to thank Mark Taylor and Ian Smithwhite for our guided tours of Roker lighthouse and of the Wave Basin battery at the Port of Sunderland. The lighthouse has recently been refurbished and is looking very fine. The Wave Basin battery is due for a facelift. We were asked to consult and found the visit fascinating.
